Moin khan - Crossing Oceans, Expanding Horizons
What started as a personal motorcycle ride soon became something much larger than adventure alone. In 2011, Moin Khan left San Francisco on a 450-pound bike with determination, limited savings, and one intention: reach Lahore — crossing 40,000 kilometers, 22 countries, and three continents. The savings were earned over eighteen months of working without a single day off, eating boiled rice and ketchup, and selling every possession he owned just to fund the departure. There were accidents in Europe, broken ribs, damaged shoulders, and moments where continuing seemed impossible. Yet somewhere between mountain passes and the kindness of strangers, the journey became a moving conversation about Pakistan itself — every border crossed an opportunity to challenge stereotypes and show the world a different version of home. That philosophy became the foundation of A Different Agenda. Today, ADA brings international visitors on authentic experiences through Pakistan's north — treks, motorcycle tours, watersports — using local guides who are properly trained and fairly paid. In 2017, Moin co-founded Chickistan with American rider Liza Miller, bringing groups of foreign women motorcyclists specifically to Pakistan, while also teaching local women to ride — quietly expanding who adventure tourism belongs to. Each foreign visitor who returns home with a story about Hunza or Skardu does what no headline can: replace a stereotype with a memory. The ride that began as one man's journey home has become a vehicle for an entire country's reintroduction to the world.
